" The Secrets of the Secret"
Throughout " Our Secret" Griffin is exploring the different characters' fears and secrets and she gives specific information into these types of " secrets". Through evaluating others Griffin comes to terms with her own emotions, secrets, and fears. She relates to Himmler, Leo, Helene, and everyone else even though she is different than every one of them. One reality can be produced about most of these characters is that they all signify humans and human feelings
First, Griffin reveals there is a hidden aspect to everyone that is just known inside, and anything outside may well be a false portrayal, or cheater. " I do think of it right now as a kind of mask, not an animated face mask that conveys the substance of an internal truth, although a cover up that falls like dead weight in the human face" (Griffin 349). This offer captures what she is trying to say regarding secrets staying the barrier to others' feelings. The mask Griffin talks about represents the obstacle to the secrets. Having this kind of mask shields what is inside.
Griffin explores Heinrich Himmler plus the secrets which can be hidden inside him. Through his child years Himmler's secrets and thoughts were invisible, overshadowed by a mask or barrier formed by his upbringing and culture. What occurs if the soul in the small start is forced to carry out a secret life? This individual harbors his secrets in fear and guilt, confessing them to no person until on time the tone of voice of his father chastising him turns into his own. A small warfare is fought in his mind (Griffin 352). Griffin is saying that Himmler has these hidden secrets that are covered up and it's building a conflict within just. These are the barriers to Himmler's emotions created by simply his upbringing and concepts. Griffin is stating from this quote that having to continue to keep a magic formula creates psychological instability, which in turn affects the well being of the individual.
